Our Family Holiday at Duddings Country Cottages Timberscombe Somerset

My Family

Approximately 6 months ago, I planned my Birthday celebrations. I wanted more than anything quality time with my family. I wanted more than just a party with them , I wanted time for everyone to have fun, build memories together and feel part of one family: It meant bring step children and grandchildren together. The group were also aged 0 to 91 years old and lived far and wide across England and Wales.
After much searching I found the ideal place a thatched long house and annexe where they had log fires: it being February, indoor swimming pool games room, it was near the coast for walking/playing on the beach, had a children's play area. lots of space both in and out of the house for people to breathe. A dining table to seat all 19 of us and would accept dogs. the dog stayed in the Annexe due to my love of dogs!!
On the way Dave , my husband and I called into Watchet to make the most of our journey

My Son Adam and Grandson , Solly

We all shared the cooking and swam each day in the pool with the children, they loved it.

played games in the night, having lots of fun

      Rhys and Leonie
and explored the local area including taking a steam train to Minehead  on the West Somerset Railway

Once there the children had fun on the beach riding the quads and playing on the 2 pence falls : they were allowed £1.00 each and all came away with a gift of their choice.

Every evening we sat together to enjoy food that had been cooked by one of the families, with a special meal one night as my birthday meal, where I had my first Birthday Cake , with the candles blown out by my grandchildren

highlights included playing Pie Face , with Drew aged 3 went first and my Mum also joined in the fun.

It was lovely to hear from everyone after we came home how much everyone had enjoyed the time we had spent together.
